History meets the future
The National Archives was formed by the merger of the Public Record Office and the Historical Manuscripts Commission. It’s one of the world’s largest collections of its kind. It safeguards over 1,000 years of our nation’s history and supports democracy through a well-informed nation. It’s the home of the Domesday Book. The National Archives needed a logo and graphic identity to clearly identify the merged organisation and reflect its work and values. The logo brings together two distinct letterforms, one traditional and the other modern, to symbolise the place where history meets the future.
It was love at first sight.
