Speaking to the world
Survival is the global movement for tribal peoples. It works in partnership with tribes to amplify their voices on the international stage. Survival stops loggers, miners and oil companies from destroying tribal lands, lives and livelihoods. It lobbies governments to recognise indigenous land rights. It documents and exposes the atrocities committed against tribal people and takes direct action to stop them. We created Survival’s iconic handprints logo thirty years ago. It speaks of people’s common ancestry and says, “This is my mark, this is humankind”. Survival’s many celebrity supporters have got their hands dirty for a good cause and donated paintings, drawings and photographs of their own hands to help promote the charity’s work. Survival’s 50 years logo celebrates its amazing successes and is galvanising support for the work that’s still to be done.
