In her name

On 31 August 1997 Diana’s tragic death shook the world. The spontaneous outpouring of emotion gave rise to The Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund. This extraordinary charity was set up in extraordinarily difficult circumstances as a legacy to her humanitarian work. It gave £100 million in grants to UK and international charities in support of people on the margins of society. The fund’s signature logo conjured up Diana’s personality and showed that it was literally held in her name. Its initial letter became the logo for Princes William and Harry’s Concert for Diana. The benefit event, which marked the 10th anniversary of her death, happened on 1 July 2007 at Wembley Stadium.

The fund has made an inspired choice of logo.
