Look at it this way

Lloyd’s Register is an engineering, technical and business services organization. They’re truly unique. They were founded in 1760 as a marine classification society but now work across many industry sectors. They have more than 9,000 employees in 78 countries. Lloyd’s Register is owned by Lloyd’s Register Foundation, a UK charity that funds research into science, engineering and technology for public benefit worldwide.

Lloyd’s Register has changed massively over recent years and needed a new logo and graphic identity to reflect that. They also needed the identity to link all the members in the group and make their broad service portfolio easier to navigate. Lloyd’s Register’s logo is drawn from their heritage. It was inspired by the LR stamp that their surveyors have punched into steel as proof of approval since 1884.
